Parental involvement is encouraged with the Home Connection section located on the back cover. The Home Connection extends the learning by tasking parents to interact with their children in discussions and activities related to the content blocks within each issue. When dealing with "social" issues such as substance abuse, violence prevention and health and nutrition, the involvement of the parent in the learning process cannot be underestimated, and this feature provides a vehicle to facilitate that interaction. |
